What matters most are the memories

One of the things that I learned about children was, yes, material things make them happy BUT temporarily. What truly makes them happy is the TIME you spend with them. The QUALITY time you spend with them will never be forgotten for love was felt deep within their hearts. As they get older they will appreciate more and more the teachings and examples you have shown them as their parents... mom or dad. When the action was right and the intention was pure, the spirit of the Lord will bear witness of its truthfulness. For the fruits of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith., meekness, temperance. (Galatians 5:22-23)

I feel blessed to be surrounded by wonderful parents who I look up to for being good influence to their children. I greatly admire how they uphold their precious beliefs. In this darkened world where immorality, uncleanness, immodesty, addictions and so on... have become a normal trend. My greatest fear and sorrow is to see my children be involved in any of these things.

The prophets have emphasized the importance of making our homes a "refuge", a shelter from the "storm". Consistent family prayer, reading the scriptures and family home evening are some of the powerful ways to make our children strong amidst temptations and trials. CONSISTENCY is the key to success.

We pray for strength and inspiration as we nurture our children according to the gospel of Christ.
