One of the blessings I am very grateful for is the presence of my loving and wonderful Mother. She is always there to help and support me in my goals. I just started college two months ago doing Medical Assisting Program. Mommy devoted her time homeschooling Miggie (5 years old) every Thursday while I am at school and Kev's at work. We so appreciate the help we get from Papa Raul and Mommy taking care of the kids and the house while we do errands or have a couple fun activity together.
I never thought that I will be so close to my parents. I feel so fortunate that I have them with me. I am sure my sisters in the Philippines are longing for them. My love for my parents is deeper and real. I wish that I can provide everything that they need even their wants. I am also a witness of how much they have grown since the time they got here in America. They have amazingly were able to adapt to the culture, weather and ways of living here.
My Parents are:
HARDWORKING- Papa has been working for ABM Company for almost two years now and Mom is a Caregiver. They love the fact that they are busy people!
INDEPENDENT- Like many of us, they enjoy and love their freedom, the ability to do things on your own. They never depended on us with everything even in transportation. They did and will do all that they can to be able to accomplish what they need or want to do. They know when and how to open their mouths to ask help from appropriate people. I am really impressed as to how they are able to learn how to live a productive life here in America.
FAITHFUL- My parents are a living example of being true to the faith! There were times that we can not go to church because for ex. we are sick and this means that they don't have transportation going to the church. NO matter what the circumstances are, they will and never did they miss church every Sunday. Yes, there were times that they did walk or found a ride. Mom always express her testimony and love of the gospel and Papa at times. They attend temple regularly. Fast every month and so on...
LOVE LEARNING AND PROGRESSION- Recently, my parents purchased their very first car. Yes!!! this is definitely exciting!! Because of their patience, faith and excellent management of their resources, they were able to do it! Their eagerness to learn and develop new skills and abilities are remarkable.
I love my parents! It is a blessing to learn and get to know them deeply... I mean is, their core personality. I realized that I do not know them well until now. I am very happy for their achievements both spiritually and temporally.

One of life's greatest opportunities is Parenthood. It is a sacred role and responsibility that is given to us by God. Parents are commanded to teach their children the gospel of Jesus Christ. As it is stated in Doctrine and Covenants 68:25-26, I quote, "And again, inasmuch as parents have children in Zion, or in any of her stakes which are organized, that teach them not to understand the doctrine of repentance, faith in Christ the Son of the living God, and of baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of the hands, when eight years old, the sin be upon the heads of the parents.
